It has been a year since the team of NGO “Vilni ta Virni” was formed and began its work. Another year of war, life, and labor has passed. We’ve covered many miles of roads and accomplished countless valuable tasks. But this is only the beginning of our long journey!
As we draw the first conclusions from our joint efforts, it’s important to note that we have always been where we were most needed, alongside those who needed us, doing what had to be done.
Over this year, we have delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine: 2 ambulances, 8 vans, 16 mobile laundry and household units, 34 pickups, 82 “Predator” buggies, 15 electronic warfare systems, 20 EcoFlow power stations, over 100 first aid kits, 50 radios, more than 70 thermal imagers, 100 Dell laptops, 210 generators, 530 FPV drones, 6,000 sets of clothing, nearly 18 tons of medicine, 200 tons of food, and many other “gifts” that can only be disclosed after the war is over.
Thanks to our partnership with our allies, 3,000 internally displaced families received food packages. Additionally, our NGO’s volunteers regularly conduct activities to support residents of frontline areas, children, mothers, and wives of soldiers, as well as initiate projects for veterans’ rehabilitation and employment. Looking ahead, I can say that we will soon launch a powerful women’s initiative aimed at supporting our female defenders, children, mothers, and wives of soldiers. So stay tuned for more updates, as there will be plenty.
Finally, we have completed our work on a comprehensive analysis of U.S. veteran policy, which we believe is optimal for adaptation into Ukrainian veteran policy. This fall, we will present a detailed report and outline our proposals for reforms in Ukraine’s veteran policy. I extend my gratitude to our American partners and my team for making this possible!
We have much to be proud of and to report to the esteemed Ukrainian community. However, we will thank everyone and celebrate together only after our Victory! We continue to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thank God and every defender of Ukraine for each day, and continue working onward!
From under the scorching eastern sun and in the company of the best sons of Ukraine, with respect and best wishes,
Your Vitalii Hersak.
