He served in various law enforcement agencies for over twenty years. He started as a criminal investigation officer in Vinnytsia and ended up as the head of the Security Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region. He participated in many important operations aimed at fighting corruption, crime and external threats. He received awards and honors for his professional activities.

After his release in 2020, he was successfully engaged in entrepreneurial and charitable activities, supporting children’s and youth sports, organizing and sponsoring professional sports competitions.

Vitalii Hersak is also a volunteer soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who joined the ranks of the Armed Forces from the first days of the Russian-Ukrainian war. He took part in the fighting in the area of Kinburn Spit, Guliaipole, and in the liberation of Kherson and Kherson region.

He is a master of sports of Ukraine in boxing, and is fond of martial arts, tennis and football.

He is married and has two sons.
